Out of all the fish and chip shops this is definitely a gourmet selection. Bit pricey but so worth every cent we drive out 3 times a year from pukekohe just to have this best option for me is the battered oysters can still taste the ocean juicy and fat. Chips perfect, fish wasn't to bad hot dog was great and so was the burgers!! Great service overall great shop!

We found this shop only by chance and we will travel from anywhere in Auckland to eat here. Their half done snapper is amazing! And so is their service

The toasted sandwiches are the best thing at this shop. Apart from being white bread, they are good portions and taste pretty good. The gourmet burgers aren't bad either, if you can afford one. The guy on the hot plate takes care about his cooking and he even fries the cheese, but the classic steak and egg burger has no meat paddy, the lettuce isn't fresh and the egg is always way overcooked. The fish is fresh, but the batter is a bit disappointing. The oysters tasted a bit off too. The chips are ok, but you really don't get much for your money. I mean, how much does it cost them for a little bit of potatoe? It would have been n nice to walk away feeling full, but overall, not a bad place to go. The staff have always been really friendly. With a few improvements, this place could be awesome. Let's hope they read these reviews

I have nothing but praise for Penny on Parnell Rd, I have been coming here for many years and their steak and egg toasted sandwich is legendary, a cut above the standard fish and chip shop. Highly recommend to all, give them a try soon. James Ashwin Kakapo Business Sales
